2024 Events
Chithirai Kalotsavam 2024:
The Chithirai Kalotsavam 2024 is a celebratory fiesta of Carnatic music, brilliantly highlighted through the colorful variety of dance and vocal recitals. This year, the event achieves new levels as there will be two epic choirs featured for the first time in our area. Adding depth, it will be including a special presentation honoring Tamil Carnatic composers, enriching the cultural experience of the event. It will be held on April 28th, 2024.
2024 Thyagaraja Aradhana:
This year's Thyagaraja Aradhana will be happening on Feb 4th. Along with a group performance featuring the Pancharatnams, Saint Thyagaraja's most jeweled pieces, special youth performances will also be happening. Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate!
2023 Events
Navaratri Kalotsavam
AFA hosted a spectacular Navaratri Kalotsavam, on October 8th, 2023. Featuring many teacher-led vocal and dance groups, it was truly wonderful seeing various teachers and people come together. We will be holding more events like this one!
Summer Camp
Our Summer Camp, held from July 24th to 29th, was a great way for children to learn more about Vocal Carnatic Music, gaining knowledge and a deeper understanding of the art form. Budding young talents from the Atlanta area taught the participants, and a group performance was held on July 29th to showcase what the students have learned.
Chithirai Utsavam
The Chithirai Utsavam, on April 16th, 2023, was a spectacular music event where participants sang songs composed by Tamil and Malayalam composers. Fun trivia that engaged the audience was included between participants. All our participants and viewers enjoyed the event, so stay tuned for more such events.
2023 Thyagaraja Aradhanai:
Our Thyagaraja Aradhanai was held on January 21st. The event, which will be held annually, was to honor Sri Thyagaraja and his compositions. Singing the pancharatna kritis and the other songs, everybody had a wonderful time. If you missed it, make sure to attend next year's!
